Product Development

Product Development

Every product begins with a simple question: Will it perform the way firefighters need it to perform?

Maltese Microfiber products are not developed in a boardroom. They are developed through real-world testing, firefighter feedback, and evaluation in active firehouses.

Before production began, multiple manufacturers, fabrics, colors, construction methods, and performance characteristics were evaluated. Samples were tested for absorbency, durability, glide, color consistency, and overall performance in firehouse environments.

The goal was never to create just another microfiber towel. The goal was to develop a product system specifically designed around the way firefighters work.

Our Development Process

Step 1: Concept Development
Identifying the need for purpose-built microfiber products designed specifically for fire apparatus and station operations.

Step 2: Sample Evaluation
Testing multiple fabrics, weights, colors, and construction methods from different manufacturers.

Step 3: Firehouse Testing
Real-world evaluation by firefighters using the products during routine apparatus cleaning and station operations.

Step 4: Product Refinement
Adjusting specifications based on performance, durability, and firefighter feedback.

Step 5: Production
Finalizing specifications and moving products into manufacturing.

Step 6: Continuous Improvement
Gathering customer feedback and continuing product development for future microfiber solutions.
