About Maltese Microfiber

Built on Tradition, Designed to Perform.

Maltese Microfiber Company was founded with a simple goal: to develop purpose-built microfiber products for the fire service through real-world testing, firefighter feedback, and a commitment to quality.

After more than 33 years in the fire service, founder Brett Johnson saw a recurring problem. Firefighters were often forced to use products designed for other industries and adapt them to the firehouse environment. Whether drying apparatus, cleaning glass, maintaining equipment, or handling station duties, there were very few products developed specifically for the way firefighters work.

As a third-generation firefighter, Brett understood the pride firefighters take in their apparatus, stations, and equipment. He also understood that performance matters. A product either works in the firehouse or it doesn’t.

What began as a search for a better drying towel evolved into a larger vision: creating a complete microfiber system designed around firehouse operations.

Together, Brett and Natalie Johnson founded Maltese Microfiber Company to bring that vision to life. Rather than relying on marketing claims or laboratory testing alone, products are evaluated in active firehouses and developed through real-world use and firefighter feedback.

Today, Maltese Microfiber is focused on building durable, professional-grade microfiber products designed for apparatus care, station operations, and everyday use while remaining committed to the values that inspired the company from the beginning.
